Reporting Concerns

If you are a child and do not feel safe

If you are scared or don’t feel safe at home or at school, you can do one of these things:

  • Speak to your class teacher or any adult in your class at any time.

  • Speak to a member of the safeguarding team.

  • Phone Childline on 0800 11 11 anytime day or night. They are happy to speak to you about any worries. The call is free. Your teachers will be happy for you to use a phone in school – just ask.

    If you are worried a child is not safe

If you are concerned about anything you witness in school, or the treatment of a child outside of school, you can do one of these things:

  • Report it to the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead (Mrs Perks) or a member of the safeguarding team. We have a dedicated email address for any safeguarding concerns that will directly notify the team: safeguarding@stwerburghsprimary.com

Alternatively, you can always contact a member of the team via the school office email or phone number. 

If you’re concerned about the well-being of a child, report the concern to First Response on 0117 903 6444. Please visit their website for more information.

If the child is at immediate risk call the Police on 999.

  • NSPCC Text helpline: 88858 (service is free and anonymous)

  • Police: 101 (non-emergency calls)

If you are concerned about an incident outside of school

 If you are concerned about the safety or well-being of an adult (where children are not involved) or an incident outside of school, you may find support here:

If you are concerned about the conduct of a member of staff

If you are concerned about how a child has been treated in school or are concerned that the conduct of a member of staff is inappropriate, you can do one of these things:

  • Alternatively, you can always contact a member of the team via the school office, email or by phone, 0117 9031466. 

  • If you are concerned about the conduct of the Headteacher, please contact the chair of governors Emma Goode and Katie Oakley via the school office at school@stwerburghsprimary.com
