Mrs Davis.

Hi, my name is Mrs Davis and this is my fifth year at St Werburgh’s Primary School and my fourth year teaching Year 6. I love teaching this year group, supporting our fantastic children and their families as they enjoy their final year of primary school. It is especially rewarding when children return from secondary school to tell me about all they have achieved and how well they are doing, showing how committed they are.

I have been teaching for over twenty years and feel very lucky to have been able to make a positive difference to so many children's lives during this time. I teach with kindness, curiosity and creativity and support each child to discover their own unique strengths and passions.

Alongside teaching, I am the Phase Leader for Years 3–6 and the Reading, Writing and Oracy Lead for Key Stage 2.

Enrichment
Assessment	Year 6 children will sit their SAT's during this year. There are two key weeks that we would ask for all Y6 to be in school: Week commencing Monday 8th March - Mock SATS week - we undertake practice tests to support the children prepare for the tests. Please note these results may be used to support an overall assessment if a child is absent during the SATS. Week commencing 10th May 2027 SATS week. Children will be asked to come and join us for a SATS breakfast from 8am.

Weekly timetable

PE Days

PE is on Monday and Friday. Please make sure that you wear a PE kit to school on these days. Our PE kit is plain black shorts; leggings or joggers; plain white or school PE t-shirt; school jumper.

Homework

Each week, we send home two homework activities - a spelling task and some arithmetic questions based on recent learning.

Please read daily at home as much as possible. Ask lots of questions during this time to support their comprehension as well as their decoding skills.

Useful information

Our doors are open at 8:45, with the children coming straight into class. Morning Work is a vital part of provision in Year 6, so please ensure that your child is on time every day.
